Welcome to the Homer S. Brown Law Association

The Homer S. Brown Law Association is a professional organization with approximately 200 African-American attorneys and jurists. Through our affiliation with the NBA, the HSBLA is an active participant in a community of 17,000 practicing lawyers, judges, educators, and law students. Since its inception, the HSBLA has continued to accept challenges to bebefit its members and the community.

The Homer S. Brown Law Association had numerous accomplishments over the past few years. We have recruited many new law student and attorney members, which has allowed us to form new committees and strengthened our mentoring relationships with the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne law schools. We have also formed strategic alliances with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, PNC Bank, Burns White & Hickton and other individuals and organizations. These alliances have helped raise the HSBLA's profile and have generated opportunities for increased programming and growth. Under the current leadership, the HSBLA's events and programs include continuing legal education sessions, the Street Law Clinic, the Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast, and a Black History Month Celebration. We hope to continue and to build upon these successful programs in the future.
